Cybersafe Maldives
Cyber Safe Maldives is the national cyber security and safety initiative, launched by Vice President HE Faisal Naseem on October 4th 2022, spearheaded by the Ministry of Environment, Climate Change and Technology and implemented by the National Centre for Information Technology.
This year, we are focusing on four key behaviours:
Internet Safety for Children
Children today are growing up in a cyber-centric society. It is hard to avoid exposing youngsters to the Internet and all things digital. However, it is possible to keep them safe and minimize threats while also teaching them how to be safe online. It all starts with the proper plan.
Phishing and Personal Security
Phishing is when criminals use fake emails to lure you into clicking on them and handing over your personal information or installing malware on your device. It’s easy to avoid a scam email, but only once you know what to look for.
Ransomware & Malware Prevention and Response
If it seems like ransomware is all over the news lately, it’s because it is. Not only is the number of attacks going up exponentially, but the amount of money extorted per attack is also increasing. To prevent a ransomware attack and mitigate the impact if one occurs is of paramount importance
E-Commerce Safety
For many people, online shopping is simply “shopping.” Who can resist one-click ordering and next-day delivery? However, online shopping isn’t just convenient for us and good for businesses…it can present many opportunities for scammers and cybercriminals. You don’t need to abandon your cart, though. With some simple preventative measures, you can enjoy your online shopping spree with peace of mind.

But these days, we also have a variety of various online profiles. Remembering every password, we require for them has gotten more difficult. As a result, we frequently use the same passwords repeatedly rather than making sure they are unique. Unfortunately, this leaves our accounts open to intrusion.
